The music industry recently experienced a buzz when Alick Macheso, a renowned musician and bandleader, decided to suspend Selemani ‘Majuice’ Mpochi, his longstanding lead dancer, citing repeated tardiness as the cause for disciplinary action.
Majuice, a familiar face alongside Alick Macheso on stage, admitted to arriving late for work at approximately 1 a.m., citing oversleeping as the reason for the delay. This ongoing issue had previously resulted in several warnings from management, leading to a reduction in pay and eventually his suspension.
In an exclusive interview, Majuice shared his perspective on the situation, stating, “I shouldn’t be suspended just for being late to one show.” He also revealed that management had imposed restrictions, preventing him from participating in other artists’ music videos.
Despite these challenges, Majuice remains steadfast in his loyalty to Macheso’s band, Orchestra Mberikwazvo. He reassured fans, saying, “Our dedicated fans should understand that I’ve remained loyal to Macheso even during tough times.” He also emphasized that following management’s directives showcased his dedication to the Orchestra Mberikwazvo brand.
