Kirsty Coventry Highlights Leadership and Gender Equality in IOC Presidency Bid

Armed criminals recently targeted the home of Robert Edwin and Lyn Coventry, the parents of Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts, and Recreation, Kirsty Coventry.

The thieves, wielding firearms, bound the couple’s legs with shoelaces before stealing valuables worth an estimated US$90,000.

The two assailants broke into the Coventry family’s residence in Glen Lorne, where they took cash totaling US$15,000, jewellery valued at US$60,000, three hairdryers, Olympic apparel, travel bags, hearing aids worth US$5,000, and three hunting rifles.

Despite a sharp rise in armed robberies across the country, police have not yet issued a statement about this specific incident.

The surge in such crimes continues, even though law enforcement has launched high-profile efforts to combat them.
