Breaking Barriers Disability Zimbabwe Extends Support to Mhondoro

Chief Chitemere and Councilor Kuda Majome, alongside health and social workers, joined forces with Breaking Barriers Disability Zimbabwe, a local non-profit led by co-founder and CEO Mr. Lonestar Makoni, for an outreach program in Mhondoro District.

Their mission includes providing free health evaluations for individuals with disabilities on a monthly basis and educating families and caregivers on proper care techniques.

Due to the absence of special education facilities in Mhondoro, Breaking Barriers plans to collaborate with the district’s headmaster and councilor to introduce free tutoring sessions for children with disabilities weekly.

Mr. Makoni expressed his intention to expand this initiative nationwide once they establish firm connections in Mhondoro.

“We launched the Breaking Barriers Disability Service in Zimbabwe today. We have given food, clothing, and trash cans,” Makoni stated.

Breaking Barriers Disability Services was founded by Lonestar Makoni and Ruvimbo Makoni in Australia over four years ago, now employing over 190 individuals. Recently, they expanded their services to Zimbabwe with Breaking Barriers Disability Service.
