Bulawayo, Zimbabwe | In a dramatic case that left many stunned, a Bulawayo man has revealed his decision to forgive his wife and work on their marriage despite her infidelity and subsequent pregnancy with another man.

Ephert Ngulube made the revelation during a court hearing, as his wife, Sandra Ngulube, sought a protection order against him.

The court proceedings, reported by B Metro, unfolded with Sandra alleging abuse at the hands of her husband.

“I’m applying for a protection order against my husband. When he comes home from nights out, he accuses me of infidelity, calls me a prostitute, and physically assaults me. At one point, he even left a note threatening to kill me. I fear for my life,” Sandra told the court.

In response, Ephert shared his version of events, shedding light on the challenges their relationship had faced.

“I found a naked picture of her being embraced by another man. To make matters worse, she became pregnant by someone else while in South Africa ordering stock for her business. After discovering the pregnancy, both our families intervened. My wife and I decided to work things out and stay together because I truly love her,” he said.

Despite Ephert’s apparent commitment to reconciliation, Sandra described a pattern of emotional and physical abuse that compelled her to seek legal protection.

The presiding magistrate ruled in Sandra’s favor, granting her a five-year protection order against Ephert. The order bars him from insulting, threatening, or physically harming his wife.

The case has sparked widespread discussion, with many expressing differing views on forgiveness, infidelity, and the boundaries of love in a marriage. While some commend Ephert’s attempt to save his marriage, others argue that reconciliation should never come at the cost of personal safety or well-being.
