“Businesspeople Like Dr. Tagwirei Welcome in ZANU PF”

The revolutionary party, ZANU PF, has reiterated that anyone — including businessmen such as Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei — is welcome to join the party, regardless of their profession or background.

ZANU PF spokesperson Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa made this statement during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters yesterday.

A journalist had inquired whether the revolutionary party was reconsidering the incorporation of Dr. Tagwirei into the Politburo.

In response, Ambassador Mutsvangwa emphasized that ZANU PF remains open to all, regardless of occupation or background.

“Anyone is free to join ZANU PF, whether you’re a businessman, a farmer, a fisherman, or whatever,” he said.

“The more businesspeople we have in the party, the more it reflects their recognition of the tangible prosperity that the President is delivering to the country.”

As Zimbabwe continues on its path of economic growth and development under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, ZANU PF views the participation of the business community as essential to achieving its national objectives.

Ambassador Mutsvangwa concluded by reaffirming the party’s openness to entrepreneurs and professionals, praising their involvement.

“So, if businessmen in large numbers begin to join the party, we applaud,” he said.

Dr. Tagwirei, who has played a significant role in the country’s economic development and in advancing President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 agenda, was recently nominated by the ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Executive and endorsed by the party’s Harare Provincial Coordinating Committee.

Recognized for his expertise, Dr. Tagwirei has also been appointed chairperson of the Land Tenure Committee by President Mnangagwa.

In this role, he is tasked with overseeing the implementation of a new land tenure system designed to issue bankable title deeds to farmers, enabling them to access loans and formalize investments on their land.

This initiative aligns with the Second Republic’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
