Cameroon FA Committee Rejects Samuel Eto'o's Resignation

The executive committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has made a significant decision regarding Samuel Eto’o’s resignation from his position as the association’s president.

Following a disappointing performance by Rigobert Song’s team in the last-16 of the AFCON tournament, Eto’o announced his resignation on Monday.

This decision was prompted not only by the team’s underwhelming results but also by allegations of misconduct, match-fixing, and corruption surrounding Eto’o.

During the meeting, Eto’o tendered his resignation to the members of the federal executive organ, urging them to follow suit in the spirit of accountability.

However, after thorough discussions and deliberations, the executive committee unanimously rejected Eto’o’s resignation.

They expressed their continued confidence in his leadership and his commitment to the reconstruction and development of Cameroon football, as outlined in his plan adopted by the General Assembly in December 2021.
