Canadian citizen James Landon, who was taken to court last year on allegations of defrauding Nyasa Air Charter of US$1.5 million, has reportedly embarked on a campaign of revenge against the complainant in that case.

According to information gathered by this publication, Landon has allegedly teamed up with two women, Molly Chirongoma and Elizabeth Mucheche, to fabricate cases against Mr. Adam Woodington, the complainant in the original matter.

Since last year, Landon is said to have made multiple visits to police stations and the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) offices, allegedly concocting falsehoods against Woodington.

Reliable sources indicate that Landon’s partner, Mucheche, is also aggrieved after a fraud case she had reported against Brian Murphy and his associate was dismissed from remand by a Harare magistrate last month.

In her ruling, the magistrate stated that the State cannot be allowed to prosecute by investigation but should investigate to prosecute. She further criticized the State for failing to manage its case properly.

“We can’t keep placing the accused persons on remand when the State is still conducting investigations,” the magistrate remarked.

The ruling came after the State had applied for further remand in the case, citing the need to obtain a statement from the Master of the High Court.
