CAPS United Set to Unveil ‘Game-Changing’ Eswatini Bank Sponsorship Before Harare Derby

In a major boost for the club, CAPS United is set to announce a new sponsorship deal with an Eswatini bank this Friday. The partnership, described as “game-changing,” is expected to provide a huge financial lift for the Green Machine, who have struggled with monetary challenges for years.

The three-year sponsorship, which will officially begin at the start of next year, will also see CAPS United receive two brand-new, state-of-the-art buses, a significant upgrade for the team.

This announcement comes just two days before their highly anticipated Harare Derby clash against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

Currently sitting in a precarious 13th position with just 32 points and six games left in the season, CAPS United is fighting to avoid relegation. Their upcoming match against a revitalized Dynamos side, who are also battling to climb out of the relegation zone, will be a major test of character for the squad.

Despite recent inconsistent performances, the team’s morale is high, especially after a week-long camp in the Eastern Highlands. CAPS United CEO, Morton Dodzo, clarified that the camp was not specifically for the derby but was organized to maintain the players’ focus and team cohesion during international breaks.

“We are not safe from relegation, and the run-in had to be prepared for. So, this is the reason why we decided to put together this camp,” Dodzo said.

The club is hopeful that the extended time together will give the team an edge in the derby. CAPS United has also requested a slight increase in entry fees for the match, proposing that the cheapest ticket be set at US$5 to help with the logistical costs of the high-stakes game.
