Marondera – Cabinet Minister Tino Machakaire has named three other people who reportedly died alongside businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife Lucy in Wednesday’s helicopter crash in rural Marondera.
In a condolence message, Machakaire identified them as Miss Senelisiwe Magagula who is believed to be Lucy’s aide and pilots Captain Kelvin T. Soda and Captain Courage Mutavirwa.
“I write this with a deeply broken heart following the tragic loss of five precious lives aboard the Bell 430 helicopter flight from Chikomba to Harare,” he said.
“My heart and deepest condolences go to the families and loved ones of Mr Wicknell Chivhayo, Mrs Lucy Chivhayo (née Muteki), Miss Senelisiwe Magagula, Captain Kelvin T. Soda and Captain Courage Mutavirwa.”
Machakaire said the tragedy had left five families carrying unimaginable pain after their loved ones departed without knowing it would be their final journey.
Chivayo’s tragic death has become talk of the town and divided opinion.
