Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has found himself at the centre of a political storm after being directly named in Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s explosive leaked dossier accusing top business figures of state looting.
The confidential report, tabled before the Zanu PF politburo last month, alleges that Chivhayo stole US$45 million from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and pocketed an additional US$193 million through a single financial institution.
Chiwenga’s dossier, which has rocked the ruling party ahead of its annual conference, claims Chivhayo is part of a powerful financial cartel funding the “2030 Agenda”, a political machinery allegedly pushing to keep President Mnangagwa in office beyond his constitutional term.
The vice president accuses Chivhayo of abusing state contracts, particularly those linked to ZEC and energy projects, saying the businessman used his proximity to political elites to “loot public coffers and corrupt party structures.”
“We cannot fold our hands while these criminals use stolen money to destroy our revolution,” Chiwenga reportedly told the politburo.
Chivhayo, who has become a social media sensation for flaunting luxury cars and cash gifts to Zanu PF supporters, has not publicly responded to the allegations. His silence, however, has only intensified speculation about his role within the party’s shadowy financial network.
Political analysts believe this dossier marks a new phase in Zanu PF’s internal power struggle, as Chiwenga positions himself as a reformist figure challenging Mnangagwa’s wealthy inner circle.
