CLUB Zone Boss Blessed Charakupa J.B Assault Trial Postponed

The assault trial of CLUB Zone boss Blessed Charakupa, originally set to resume today, has been postponed to next month due to the unavailability of the presiding magistrate.

Charakupa appeared before magistrate Learnmore Mapiye, who adjourned the case and remanded him to February 17, 2025.

According to the State, the incident in question occurred on January 27. On that day, complainants Obert Masvotore and Tanaka Tamayi were attending a party at the club with their friends and family when they were allegedly assaulted by Charakupa and a group of accomplices.

The circumstances leading to the alleged assault remain unclear, but the State maintains that the attack was orchestrated by Charakupa and his associates.

Charakupa has denied the allegations and maintained his innocence. His legal team has not yet disclosed the defense strategy, but sources close to the case suggest they will challenge the credibility of the complainants’ testimony and any evidence linking him to the assault.

The postponement means that the trial will now resume in February, providing both sides additional time to prepare. The case has drawn significant public attention, with CLUB Zone being a well-known establishment in the area and Charakupa a high-profile figure.

Observers will be closely watching the proceedings next month, as the trial is expected to shed light on the details of the alleged altercation and determine Charakupa’s culpability.

The court will reconvene on February 17 to hear further evidence and testimony in this ongoing matter.
