Police in Bulawayo arrested 38 minors at a Vuzu party in Pumula South on Friday after neighbors reported the event. Officers found condoms and alcohol at the scene.
Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed that the minors were students from several schools, including COH&H College and St Bernard’s School. The police received a tip-off about the party on October 11, 2024, around 1 PM, and discovered the items during their search.
The children claimed they were attending a birthday party without their parents’ knowledge, and the identity of the house owner is still unknown.

The police thanked the community for their help and urged parents to monitor their children’s activities. The minors were released to their parents and taken to Mpilo Hospital for check-ups.
Phumulani Khumalo, from a local neighborhood watch committee, stated that residents quickly alerted the police. She noted that such parties are unusual in the area and likely happened because the homeowners were not present.
Some minors were in school uniforms, while others wore casual clothing. Khumalo highlighted that these parties are often organized through shared channels and advised parents to ensure their children have responsible supervision. Vuzu Party
