A couple from Crowborough North is looking for financial support so that their six-month-old son can have hydrocephalus surgery.
As fluid accumulates in the ventricles of the brain, Ryan Lemekani has a syndrome that makes his head inflate.
Francis Lemekani, Ryan’s father, claimed that the swelling began a few months after Ryan’s birth.
“Ryan was born early, and he spent two months in the hospital before being released. When he was born, we didn’t notice anything unusual, but a few months later, we observed that his head was swollen and becoming larger than his body,” he added.
Francis claimed that the cost of the procedure to empty the fluid from his son’s body was $8 450.
“I can’t raise the required amount. My worst fear is losing my child. It hurts to see him in this situation knowing that there is nothing I can do ease his pain,” he said.
Well-wishers can send money to his EcoCash number 0773 172 475 or Steward Bank account number 2003974555.
