Agents from the US Department of Homeland Security have initiated an investigation into hip-hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs, conducting searches at his properties in Los Angeles and the Miami area, officials announced on Monday.
The investigation, spearheaded by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents in New York, stems from a lawsuit filed against Combs by a former girlfriend in federal court in November. The lawsuit accuses him of involvement in s*x trafficking.
Combs, 54, maintains his innocence, dismissing the accusations as attempts to extort money. His lawyer, Ben Brafman, has not responded to requests for comment.
Footage from television stations in Los Angeles showed HSI agents and other law enforcement personnel raiding Combs’ opulent estate in the upscale Holmby Hills neighborhood. Several individuals were reportedly detained outside the residence, but it remains unclear if any arrests were made.

Federal authorities also executed a search warrant at Combs’ home in the Miami area, specifically on Star Island in Miami Beach. Agents were seen carrying materials from the property, though Combs’ whereabouts during the raids were unknown.
HSI spokespersons confirmed the law enforcement actions, conducted with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners, but did not provide details on the investigation’s nature.
The inquiry follows a lawsuit filed by R&B singer Cassandra Ventura, who accused Diddy Combs of physical abuse, s*xual slavery, and rape during their 10-year relationship. Ventura claimed that Combs forced her to engage in intimate acts with male prostitutes while he watched and filmed the encounters.
Ventura’s lawsuit cited violations of s*x trafficking and human trafficking statutes under federal, New York, and California laws. The case was settled under confidential terms shortly after it was filed.
