DJ Ribhe, a prominent producer at Chillspot Records, is facing serious allegations of raping a 14-year-old schoolgirl. He has been in custody since the beginning of November and is expected to remain there for at least another month while investigations are finalized.¹
Ribhe, whose real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, appeared in court and was remanded to December 3 by regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande. The allegations against him are severe, with accusations that he drugged the minor before raping her.
According to the State, Ribhe took the girl to Mashwede Village, where he allegedly manipulated her into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha. He then took her to his home, where she regained consciousness the next day and realized she had been raped.
Ribhe’s family has secured a new lawyer for him, replacing Dumisani Mthombeni. Ribhe has yet to file his bail application at the High Court.
