Zim Cyber City Back on Track: Mt Hampden’s Mini-Dubai Taking Shape

Mt Hampden, Harare |  The prestigious Zim Cyber City project in Harare, which aims to bring Dubai-style infrastructure and flamboyance to the city, is progressing well, according to Dr. Paul Tungwarara of Prevail Group International, the company constructing the project.

He made the statement on Wednesday.

Dr. Tungwarara toured the Zim Cyber City site, accompanied by journalists from various media houses.

“By March next year, we should have finished constructing the 50 house units,” Dr. Tungwarara said.

“We will then move on to construct shopping malls, the tower, and other infrastructure.”

At the site, Prevail Group has already completed foundations for the villas, tarred roads, and installed water and sewer piping.

“We are constructing, as you can see, a pool that will have dancing waters like in Dubai. Here at Zim Cyber City, it will be like a mini-Dubai,” Dr. Tungwarara said.

“We are implementing the President’s vision.”

At least 600 units, including offices and villas, will be built.

The tallest building in Zim Cyber City, the Mulk Tower, will be over 20 stories high and will house a restaurant and a hotel at the top.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has projected Zimbabwe to become a middle-income country by 2030.

The Second Republic has seen numerous projects completed across the country, including the New Parliament of Zimbabwe, roads, clinics, and schools.
