Dynamos’ Chibuku Super Cup Preparations Disrupted by Player Protest

Dynamos' Chibuku Super Cup Preparations Disrupted by Player Protest

Harare giants Dynamos find themselves in turmoil ahead of Sunday’s Chibuku Super Cup semi-final against Manica Diamonds, as players refused to train this morning due to unpaid winning bonuses and outstanding signing-on fees.

The defending champions were scheduled to host the Gem Boys at Rufaro Stadium, while last season’s runners-up, Ngezi Platinum Stars, prepare to face Simba Bhora at the Baobab.

During the scheduled training session at Alex Sports Club, Dynamos players arrived but collectively decided to abstain from practice. One player, speaking to Soccer24 on the condition of anonymity, expressed frustration over the financial issues affecting the team.

“We have not received any winning bonuses since the start of the second half of the season, and some players are still owed signing-on fees. This is why we chose not to train today,” the player explained.

The protest highlights ongoing concerns regarding the management of player payments, an issue that has the potential to impact team morale and performance as they head into a crucial match.

As the players look for resolution, the club’s management faces increasing pressure to address these financial grievances in order to get their squad back on track for the semi-final clash.
