In 2024, several high-profile African personalities have found themselves caught in intimate scandals that quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion.
Among the most talked-about figures are Baltasar Engonga from Equatorial Guinea, Ghana’s Daisy Melanin, Zimbabwe’s Felisha Murata, and Ghanaian influencer Angie Stylish.
Baltasar Engonga, the Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), is at the center of a major scandal after intimate videos of him surfaced online. The videos allegedly show Engonga engaging in sexual acts with several women, including some family members, such as his brother’s wife, a cousin, and even the sister of the country’s president.
The videos were exposed by social commentator Martins Ortse, also known as “VeryDarkMan,” who shared the footage on Instagram. Investigations revealed that over 400 such videos were found on Engonga’s computer during a fraud probe.
Meanwhile, Daisy Melanin, a prominent social media personality from Ghana, recently became a viral sensation after a controversial video emerged showing her in explicit acts with six men.
The 38-minute video ignited debates online, but Daisy responded defiantly, stating that public opinion didn’t affect her. She promised to make an even bolder video, this time with ten men.
In Zimbabwe, the daughter of socialite and comedian Mai Titi, 18-year-old Felisha Murata (known as Fifi), also went viral after sharing nude photos on social media.
The incident followed a similar scandal involving her mother, whose intimate images were leaked the previous year, sparking heated conversations about privacy, parenting, and social media’s influence.
Lastly, Ghanaian TikTok star and influencer Angie Stylish became embroiled in a scandal after a video surfaced showing her engaging in explicit activities with several men. Reports claim the men, allegedly involved in internet fraud, paid Angie to participate in the video, which was later shared across social media platforms.
These incidents have sparked significant controversy and discussions about privacy, online conduct, and the personal lives of public figures in Africa.
