Everything is Set For Independence Day Celebrations and Children’s Party

Preparations are now complete for the Independence Day festivities in Murambinda, where the Children’s Party will kick off today. President Mnangagwa and First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa are poised to host child delegates, with an estimated 3,050 students set to participate.

The President will also present 1,000 computers to Buhera District, to be distributed across all schools in the district through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr. Jenfan Muswere revealed that plans for the Independence Anniversary Celebrations and the Children’s Party have advanced during a press conference held following the Cabinet meeting.

The Main Arena, the football field terraces, the locker rooms, the restrooms, and the classroom buildings at Murambinda A and B Primary Schools and Murambinda B Secondary School are among the notable finished projects. Furthermore, enhancements including ablution facility desludging and perimeter fence erection have been carried out.

Additionally, road grading and repair have been completed successfully, and the Independence Flame Roadshow is currently in motion, stopping at a number of locales before making its way to the major venue in Dzapasi on April 17, 2024. To handle the expected overflow crowd, the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services will set up LED displays at the Main Arena and the Children’s Party.

The Ministry is using bioscope teams and billboards to promote the Independence theme and to draw attention to the Second Republic’s accomplishments and the importance of Independence Day. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage will be responsible for managing the security plans for the events.

During the festivities, two football matches are also planned: on April 17, Simba Bhora vs. Manica Diamonds, and on April 18, 2024, Highlanders Football Club vs. Dynamos Football Club.
