Letwin Masunda, a mother of five, is viciously stabbed with an Okapi knife during a custody battle over her children. This is a horrifying episode in which she battles for her life.
Letwin Masunda was stabbed many times in the armpits and shoulders by her ex-husband, Brian Jangwa, and was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital.
At her parents’ house, Brian confronted Letwin and accused her of preventing him from seeing their five children. He attacked her viciously in a fit of rage and then ran from the scene. After the couple’s divorce in 2022, Letwin was granted custody of their kids.
51-year-old Clara Madzuramhende spoke about her daughter’s illness and expressed gratitude that Letwin is responding well to treatment. She denounced Brian’s behaviour, saying that he had tried to kill Letwin.

Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, a spokesman for the Harare provincial police, confirmed the incident and asked anyone with knowledge on Brian’s whereabouts to come forward.
“A case involving a former couple in Epworth is being looked upon by police. The accused, who lives in Mbare, went to see his ex-wife and asked for their kids’ custody. Following an altercation, the accused repeatedly stabbed the complainant before leaving the scene. Inspector Chakanza said that Letwin was then taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital for treatment.
He continued by saying that the police are actively following leads in an effort to capture the criminal, and they have discovered a blood-stained Okapi knife from the crime scene.
