FASTJET Zimbabwe has increased the frequency of its flights between Harare and Bulawayo, as well as Victoria Falls, in response to rising demand.
Specifically, the airline now offers double daily flights between Harare and Bulawayo on weekends, an increase from the previous single daily flights.
In addition, since last Friday, the airline has operated four flights per day to and from Victoria Falls, driven by heightened demand surrounding the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon held on Sunday, where the airline served as a key sponsor.
Looking ahead, Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ms. Vivian Ruwuya, highlighted plans to expand into the SADC and East African markets by leveraging open air policies. She emphasized the airline’s role as a partner in major events like the marathon, which has significantly increased travel demand.
Victoria Falls, beyond being a marathon hub, also serves as a prominent tourist destination, with Fastjet operating routes to multiple tourist spots from there.
The airline currently operates double daily flights between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg, as well as daily flights to Kruger in Mpumalanga and Harare.
Ms. Ruwuya underscored the airline’s responsiveness to demand, particularly in Victoria Falls, which is not only a tourist hotspot but also a hub for conferences.
She noted strong bookings and inquiries for last-minute travel during peak periods. Moreover, she expressed optimism about future growth opportunities, including potential expansion under the Single African Aviation Market protocol, aimed at enhancing connectivity across the region.
Fastjet Zimbabwe operates its flights using a fleet of five ERJ145 Embraer aircraft and prides itself on offering competitive pricing and flexible travel options to cater to diverse passenger needs.
The airline’s commitment extends beyond commercial operations, with initiatives in corporate social responsibility, such as conservation partnerships in Victoria Falls.
