Harare | Yesterday, WICKNELL Chivayo gave the ZIYA Cultural Arts Trust trio cast—Vharazipi, Chairman, and Mbuya Mai John—US$10,000 apiece as payment for the skits that have been entertaining audiences lately.
Before yesterday’s act of kindness, Chivayo presented David Masomere, a teacher at Ndarama High School and Masvingo’s distinguished master of ceremonies, with a brand-new Toyota GD6 and a home.
In exchange for Chief Hwenje’s song “Mai Welly,” which has become popular among Zimbabweans, he also gave him a Toyota GD6 and a home.
On his social media accounts last week, Chivayo sent a message pledging to commemorate Vharazipi and his two cast members.
Additionally, Vharazipi and his team received US$10,000 apiece exactly one week after he made the news.
In addition, they received $2,000 USD for fueling.
David Mubaiwa, also known as Vharazipi, was overjoyed to receive the money.
“Basa raitwa nemukuru tinoritenda, tazviona asi sabhuku vanofamba neshoka,” quipped Vharazipi, implying that he too required a vehicle.
When Chivayo first saw Mbuya Mai John (Kumbirai Chikonye), he was taken aback by how well-dressed he was in comparison to the character from the skits.
Chivayo remarked, “Based on how she appears in videos, I assumed she was an elderly woman.”
Following the donations, the group posed with Chief Hwenje and Chivayo for a group picture.
Chief Hwenje expressed his happiness at being a landlord; however, he declined to say how he came to own the new home.
Chivayo has been lavishing cash on notable individuals, most recently comedians and artists.
