Two matches in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) are set to take place this weekend, coinciding with the FIFA international break. Typically, club football is put on hold during this period to allow for national team games.
The 2024 PSL champions, Ngezi Platinum Stars, and the 2024 Chibuku Super Cup winners, Dynamos, have been busy participating in CAF inter-club competitions over the last few weeks. Their involvement in these prestigious tournaments has resulted in some local fixtures being postponed, necessitating a catch-up.
On Saturday, October 12, Ngezi Platinum Stars will face Hwange at their home ground, Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro-Ngezi. The following day, Sunday, October 13, Dynamos will host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.
Both clubs currently have two matches in hand. Ngezi Platinum Stars sit on 43 points, while Dynamos have accumulated 38 points from 27 matches played.
However, Dynamos will be missing several key players for their match against Chicken Inn. Striker Sydney Urikhob is sidelined due to injury, while Freddy Alick is serving a suspension. Emmanuel Jalai is on national team duty, and Emmanuel Paga will also be unavailable.
