A Stallion Cruise bus toppled at Masumo Bridge in the Samende region of Binga Wednesday, killing five persons.
The bus was on its way from Siabuwa to Binga.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on 16/07/23 in the morning near Masumo Bridge, Samende area, Binga, in which a Stallion Cruise bus travelling from Siabuwa to Binga overturned,” police wrote on Twitter.
“The ZRP confirms that five people were killed whilst the number of the injured is yet to be ascertained.”
Reports indicate that some passengers were trapped for several hours awaiting rescue.
Last Tuesday a Bulawayo-bound Stallion Cruise Bus went up in flames near First Class Academy in Sakubva, Mutare.
No one was injured in the incident.
