Former Boxing Champion Forgives Wife After Public Adultery Scandal

The wife of former boxing champion Arifonso “Mosquito” Zvenyika has admitted to being unfaithful but expressed remorse and gratitude for her husband’s forgiveness.

Jesman Mutokonya, 40, was involved in an affair with a man identified as Leonard Jamanda, a relationship that came to light through reports in H-Metro.

Jesman acknowledged her wrongdoing and stated that she has learned from her mistakes, asking for forgiveness from the public.

“I regret my actions and have resolved never to repeat them,” she said. “I believe I succumbed to temptation and was misled by the Devil. When my husband discovered the affair, I left our home in shame and fear, taking refuge at my sister’s house.

I couldn’t face my children or parents because of the guilt I felt.”

Jesman was surprised when Arifonso sought her out, visited her family, and urged her to return home, assuring her of his forgiveness. “At first, I was skeptical and feared he might retaliate, but his actions proved otherwise.

He welcomed me back, shared his feelings, and made it clear that he had truly forgiven me. I feel humbled by his grace, and we’ve agreed to work on our marriage and deepen our faith together,” she added.

The couple now plans to celebrate their reconciliation alongside Arifonso’s recent birthday, which was initially overshadowed by the affair. Their reunion was met with mixed reactions from their community in Mbare, with many expressing disbelief at Mosquito’s decision to forgive.

Some neighbors even criticized him, but he remained resolute in his choice, citing his own past mistakes.

Speaking to H-Metro, Mosquito explained his reasons for forgiveness. “Many may find this decision strange, but I reflected on my own history. During my boxing career, I cheated and wasted money on other women.

When I considered the biblical story of the adulterous woman and Jesus’ words about forgiveness, I realized I was in no position to judge. I am a sinner, and forgiveness was the right path for me, my wife, and our children.”

Arifonso also acknowledged that societal pressures and criticism are common in such situations. “Many men don’t even know what their wives might be doing in secret.

I have chosen to face my reality with faith and commitment. This is not just a physical battle but a spiritual one, and I trust God to guide us through it,” he said.

He emphasized the vows he made during their marriage in 2014 and his desire to honor them for the sake of their family.

He also apologized to his in-laws for bringing Jesman’s affair into the public eye and reflected on the importance of discipline and maturity.

“As a former boxer and coach, I know the value of principles and self-restraint. Using physical strength is not the answer. I’ve grown beyond such actions,” he stated.

The couple now hopes to rebuild their marriage, strengthen their faith, and provide a stable future for their three children.
