In Harare Jason Passad, a former Zanu PF legislator for Mount Pleasant, has drawn criticism for allegedly falsifying several court papers in which he claimed victory in a property ownership dispute.
The legal dispute about ownership of residential stands at Donnybrook Farm, close to Mabvuku in Harare, was recently lost by the beleaguered Passad.
But it was believed that Passadi falsified documents declaring victory in the lawsuit.
“That a former lawmaker is going to such lengths is just tragic. He should have filed an appeal with the Supreme Court as a decision dismissing a lawsuit filed in the same court cannot be issued by that court. According to a close source, “He will probably be arrested because the case was reported to Police and the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZAC)”.
Passad and his business, Homegram, were recently sued by a nearby property development firm, Eastwind Trust, for allegedly stealing the disputed land.
On October 11, Justice Benjamin Chikowero of the High Court issued an injunction for the former MP to leave the property.
The first and second respondents will return any land that the applicant occupies, controls, and is located on the remaining portion of Donnybrook Farm in Salisbury Township in Mabvuku Tafara to the applicant.
The judgement said, in part, that the petitioner will be granted quiet and undisturbed custody and occupancy of the land by the Sheriff of Zimbabwe, with the help of the police as needed.
Additionally, it was mandated that Passad and Homegram Investments Pvt Ltd split the applicants’ legal fees.
