Bulawayo, Zimbabwe | Zimdancehall stars Freeman and Enzo Ishall are set to headline the Doek & Slay event in Bulawayo on August 18 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre.
Masvingo will also host its edition of the event on September 8 at Caravan Park.
The event organizer’s have announced date changes for the Harare and Gweru editions. The Harare event, initially scheduled for August 11, has been moved to August 25, while the Gweru edition has been shifted to August 11 due to the 44th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government taking place in Harare.
In a statement, organizers said: “We wish to inform you of the schedule change for the Harare and Gweru editions of Doek and Slay. The Harare edition has been moved to August 25, and the Gweru edition will now be on August 11, due to the SADC Summit.”
The venues remain unchanged, with the Harare event set for Alex Sports Club and the Gweru event at Gweru Sports Club. Gweru’s edition will feature performances by ExQ and Killer T.
Doek & Slay has resonated with women across Zimbabwe, providing a unique platform to celebrate womanhood and connect in a meaningful way beyond typical social gatherings.
Since its launch in Harare in March last year, the event has rapidly expanded to other cities, including Kadoma, Gweru, Masvingo, Mutare, and Bulawayo.
Organisers have also announced plans to take the event international, with an edition scheduled in Lusaka, Zambia, this October.
