Dr. Dilesh Nguwaya, the CEO of Geo Pomona, has been honored with an honorary degree by the International Institute of Philanthropy (IIP), further solidifying his dedication to making a positive impact on the world.
The ceremony, held in Harare, saw Dr. Nguwaya receive the prestigious Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters (DHL).
Dr. Enrico Maverick, the country representative of IIP, led the proceedings and emphasized the importance of celebrating individuals who contribute to humanity. He described IIP as a global network that recognizes and celebrates individuals for their significant contributions to their communities.
During the ceremony, Dr. Maverick highlighted that the criteria for receiving the Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters is not based on traditional academic achievements but rather on the impact individuals make in their communities and beyond.
Dr. Nguwaya expressed his gratitude for the recognition of his work, stating that it was a testament to the efforts made to transform the Pomona dumpsite into a livable and sustainable environment under Geo Pomona’s management.

The conferment of the honorary degree upon Dr. Nguwaya serves as a testament to his commitment to philanthropy and community development.
