Michael Nees, the new head coach of the Zimbabwe national football team, secured a goalless draw in his first game against Kenya in the AFCON qualifiers.
Despite selecting several top Zimbabwean footballers for the match, Nees did not include Tymon Machope Simba Bhora striker , the current leading scorer in the Castle Lager Premier League. This decision has faced significant criticism.
Machope has been voted as the best player of the month August by the Football Union of Zimbabwe.

Machope has been in exceptional form this season, scoring about 10 goals in the Premier League and frequently contributing assists. His absence was notable in a game that could have benefited from a striker with his capabilities.
The match between Kenya and Zimbabwe highlighted the need for a prolific striker, as the chosen players struggled to find the back of the net. The squad’s performance suffered without a true number 9 to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
