In a startling turn of events, a Harare woman finds herself behind bars after allegedly attempting to defraud her ex-lover of a substantial sum of money, amounting to US$2300, under the guise of a fabricated pregnancy and childbirth.

The accused, whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities, stands accused of orchestrating an elaborate scheme to deceive her former partner. It is reported that she falsely claimed to be pregnant with his child and subsequently fabricated a story surrounding the birth of their supposed offspring.

According to sources familiar with the case, the woman went to great lengths to maintain the illusion of her pregnancy, even going as far as providing falsified medical documents and staging encounters with purported medical professionals to corroborate her claims.
