In a disturbing marital dispute, a woman Memory Manyangadze from Harare revealed that she has been sleeping in the hallway of their home for the past three years after her husband locked her out of their bedroom
This drastic move came after her husband accused her of having an affair with their church pastor.
Memory Manyangadze shared her situation during a hearing at the Harare Civil Court, stating that her husband, Reginald Tuhwe, had barred her from their bedroom three years ago. Since then, she has had no choice but to sleep in the hallway.
“Three years ago, he locked the bedroom and tossed my belongings into the hallway, and that’s where I’ve been sleeping ever since,” Memory testified. She also mentioned that he physically assaults her whenever she tries to enter the bedroom.

Memory asserted that her husband accused her of cheating after he found messages on her phone. “He denied me access to our bedroom, and whenever I attempted to go in, he would assault me. He claimed I was cheating with our pastor based on messages he saw, which I believe are fabricated.”
In court, Reginald Tuhwe acknowledged that he locked his wife out but insisted that his actions were warranted. He claimed to have proof of her infidelity with the pastor, which justified his decision to keep her out of the bedroom. “I suspected she was cheating, and I caught her exchanging flirtatious messages with our pastor. She is deceitful,” Tuhwe stated.
Magistrate Mandlenkosi Ndlovu granted Memory Manyangadze a protection order, instructing Reginald Tuhwe to return the keys to the tuckshop that he had taken from her. The magistrate also ordered him to allow his wife access to their bedroom.
