He Was Beaten For Doing This In Harare CBD!

HARARE | Chaos erupted in the bustling streets of Harare Central Business District (CBD) yesterday afternoon as enraged passersby took the law into their own hands.

The target of their fury was a suspected thief accused of snatching a cellphone and US$200 from a woman.

Eyewitnesses confirm that the daring theft unfolded near busy Eastgate shopping Mall in broad daylight.

The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly left in shock as the thief swiftly snatched her cellphone and a significant sum of US dollars from her possession.

However, it was not long before the situation took a violent turn.

A crowd quickly formed, surrounding the alleged thief, who was still clutching the stolen cellphone. In a frenzy of anger and frustration, the mob subjected the suspect to a severe beating.

The woman managed to recover her stolen cellphone, but the US$200, which had been handed over to accomplices of the thief, vanished into thin air as they managed to escape the scene before justice could be fully served.

Police arrived at the scene after the incident had already taken place.

The suspected thief was taken into custody, albeit in a severely injured state, and is currently receiving medical attention.
