Here Is How President Mnangawa’s Relative ‘Henrietta Rushwaya’ Defrauded Indian Investors!

Harare | In a narrative that could easily be drawn from the pages of a gripping thriller, the story unfolds with promises of prosperity, ventures into unknown territories, and the bitter taste of betrayal. Dr. Ashok Jain, a seasoned businessman hailing from the bustling streets of New Delhi, India, found himself entangled in a web of deceit spun by none other than Henrietta Beatrice Rushwaya, a name resonating with Zimbabwe’s corridors of power.

The stage was set in April 2021 when Dr. Jain, chairman of the esteemed NV Group of Companies, was introduced to Henrietta Rushwaya through the conduit of Asif Adil. With aspirations of tapping into Zimbabwe’s business landscape, Dr. Jain’s interest was piqued by Henrietta’s assurances of lucrative opportunities, ranging from liquor distribution to the establishment of a distillery and an Ethanol plant.

Little did Dr. Jain know that he was stepping into a meticulously orchestrated scheme, masterminded by Henrietta Rushwaya herself. Seizing the moment, she demanded a hefty sum of thirty-five thousand United States dollars, purportedly to kickstart the envisioned business ventures in Zimbabwe.

The plot thickened as Henrietta made her way to the heart of India, where Dr. Jain awaited her arrival in New Delhi. There, amidst the bustling streets and swirling promises, thirty-five thousand dollars exchanged hands, sealing the initial phase of their dubious pact.

But the allure of wealth blinded Dr. Jain to the impending treachery. Henrietta, weaving a tapestry of falsehoods, enticed him with the prospect of acquiring a gold mine nestled in the depths of Mupfurudzi, Mashonaland Central, Zimbabwe.

With promises of untold riches gleaming within its depths, she offered the mine for a staggering sum of three hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

In a cascade of deceit, Henrietta demanded hefty installments, totaling three hundred and forty-eight thousand dollars, under the guise of processing work permits, exemption licenses, and administrative fees. Dr. Jain, ensnared by the illusion of wealth, complied, showering Henrietta with cash as she orchestrated her elaborate charade.

But truth has a way of piercing through the veil of deception. As doubts began to gnaw at Dr. Jain’s conscience, he sought recourse in justice. On a fateful day in February 2024, the charade came crashing down as Dr. Jain, weary of the deceit, took a stand and reported the matter to the authorities.

In the wake of this saga, one truth emerges unscathed: the indomitable spirit of investors shall not be dampened by the shadows of deceit. As the story of Henrietta Rushwaya unfolds, it serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us all to tread carefully in the pursuit of prosperity, lest we fall prey to the appetites of deception lurking in the shadows.
