Harare, Zimbabwe | Everything is set for this year’s Castle Lager Braai Festival, happening at the Old Hararians Sports Club on October 19, with Wallace “Winky D” Chirumiko taking the spotlight once again.

The popular artist has expressed his excitement for the event, stating that nothing could keep him away from the festival.

The annual braai fest, which has consistently featured Winky D as the headliner, will also showcase performances from rising stars Master H, Saintfloew, and South African sensation Kamo Mphela.

Winky D, often hailed as one of Zimbabwe’s most influential musicians, has been a favorite for over two decades, thanks to his ability to resonate with the country’s youth through his socially conscious lyrics and hit songs.

Master H and Saintfloew, representing a new generation of Zimbabwean music, bring fresh energy and stage presence that is already captivating fans across the country.

In a promotional video shared by Castle Lager, Winky D enthusiastically invited fans to join him at the festival, emphasizing that this year’s event will be one to remember. “I wouldn’t miss this for anything,” Winky D declared.

“I’m calling on all of you to come sing with me. We’ve got Master H ready to dominate the stage, and Saintfloew always bringing high energy. And from South Africa, we have Kamo Mphela—it’s going to be wild! Come and make your GOATS proud.”

Nicknamed the Gaffa President, Winky D has been a crowd favorite for years, though he missed the 2022 edition of the festival due to controversy surrounding his album Eureka Eureka, which was seen as a sharp critique of political and economic elites. This led to some media outlets imposing a blackout on his music, but after fan outrage, he was reinstated as the headline performer for the 2023 edition.

With the return of Winky D and the addition of fresh talent, this year’s Castle Lager Braai Fest promises to be an unmissable event. Fans can expect an exhilarating day filled with music, food, and Zimbabwean culture at its finest.
