Installation of Solar Inverters Begins Under Presidential Rooftop Solar Scheme in Glenview

Harare, Zimbabwe | The installation of solar inverters under the Presidential Rooftop Solar Scheme has commenced in Glenview, marking a crucial step in Zimbabwe’s push for renewable energy adoption.

The initiative aims to equip households and businesses with solar power systems, reducing reliance on the national grid and addressing persistent electricity shortages. Solar inverters, which convert solar energy into usable electricity, are a key component of the project.

Authorities say the installation of inverters will ensure stable and efficient power supply for beneficiaries of the scheme. By integrating solar technology into urban energy systems, the government hopes to provide a long-term solution to Zimbabwe’s energy crisis.

“This is a milestone in promoting clean and sustainable energy. The installation of inverters is critical in ensuring uninterrupted power supply for homes and businesses,” said an official overseeing the project.

Glenview has been selected as one of the first areas to receive solar inverters, with plans to expand installations to other locations. Residents have welcomed the move, highlighting the benefits of reducing dependency on unreliable grid electricity.

“For years, we have struggled with power outages. Having a reliable solar system, complete with inverters, will be a game-changer for our households and businesses,” said one Glenview resident.

Officials have encouraged more property owners to participate in the program, emphasizing the long-term benefits of investing in solar energy.

The Presidential Rooftop Solar Scheme aligns with Zimbabwe’s renewable energy goals and broader efforts to transition to sustainable power sources.

With installations now in progress, the government remains optimistic that the initiative will significantly improve energy access while fostering economic and environmental benefits.
