Harare – OPPOSITION lawmaker Job Sikhala has been convicted Wednesday on charges of obstructing justice, ZiMetro News has learnt.
The 50-year old firebrand politician has been held in maximum security prison since June when he was arrested alongside fellow CCC members.
In his several bail attempts, Sikhala had argued that the State’s case was weak but the magistrate ruled that there was “overwhelming” evidence against him.
Sentence will be handed down Wednesday at 14.15.
Sikhala has been arrested 67 times but has never been convicted.
This will mean he will not be able to contest in the upcoming harmonised elections.
