Total Energies is actively searching for a dynamic and experienced General Trade Business Development Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Activities:
- Develop, present, and implement sales budgets and conduct business reviews for regional B2B activities.
- Create a strategic roadmap for sales, marketing, and technical aspects of B2B.
- Manage pricing, rebates, and services to ensure profitable and sustainable margins while delivering excellent customer service.
- Oversee customers’ payment terms and credit risk management.
- Respond promptly to relevant tenders and business opportunities.
- Manage OPEX and CAPEX commitments in line with budget and long-term plans.
- Plan customer visits and ensure management participation.
- Identify opportunities for business, product, and market development within the GT and Mines portfolio.
- Implement M&S B2B Excellence Essentials and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ensure annual registration with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ).
- Analyze logistical options for growth, focusing on closed depots and other opportunities.
Mining-Specific Responsibilities:
- Represent the company at the Chamber of Mines and establish Tzim as a recognized supplier among national mining companies.
- Forge long-term contracts with key mining clients.
- Develop customer-focused technical and logistical services to position Tzim as the preferred supplier.
- Drive mine sales and prospecting to achieve projected growth in volumes and revenue.
- Lead new product and market development efforts, particularly for excellium, filtration services, and optimizers.
- Regularly inspect the condition of company assets at customer locations.
- Analyze monthly profitability by customer and product.
- Ensure timely credit control and collection processes.

- Represent the company at various non-mining industry association meetings, such as the Transporters Association of Zimbabwe.
- Implement the company roadmap while considering the current market environment.
- Monitor credit risk exposure closely.
- Drive GT sales and prospecting to ensure sustained growth in volumes and revenue.
- Focus on new product and market development, particularly for excellium, filtration services, and optimizers.
- Conduct regular checks on company assets at customer sites.
- Analyze monthly profitability by customer and product.
- Ensure effective credit control and timely collections.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- An Engineering degree with 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas marketing or a similar field.
- Strong people management, development, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
- Experience in sales management, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with the commercial, agricultural, and mining sectors in Zimbabwe is a plus.
