Two men from an apostolic sect in Kadoma are facing murder charges after allegedly killing a local man during a dispute over “holy ashes.”
The suspects, identified as Misheck Muperiwa (22) and Costain Tshuma (28), reportedly attacked Shepherd Mphofu (48) when he attempted to stop them from sprinkling the ashes. The incident occurred on Friday, January 31, at a residence in Mupamombe Phase 1, Kadoma.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Muperiwa and Tshuma were arrested in connection with the murder. Authorities confirmed the details of the attack, stating that the two men had been involved in a heated argument with Mphofu over the ashes, leading to the violent confrontation.
