Rumors are swirling around the Mudzi West constituency seat currently held by ZANU PF’s Knowledge Kaitano, as allegations of fabricated criminal cases threaten to derail his political career.
Kaitano recently appeared before the Kotwa Magistrate, facing serious accusations of indecent assault involving a school-going child. While the court has remanded him to appear again on September 27, 2024, he remains out on bail. However, within the community, suspicions are growing that these charges could be part of a calculated effort to tarnish his reputation.
A local resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared concerns about an alleged plot to destroy Kaitano’s career: “Just two weeks ago, I overheard people saying they were determined to take him down.”
The resident further questioned the legitimacy of the accusations, noting, “It doesn’t make sense. Why would he assault a child he’s been helping? This seems staged.”
The charges have divided the community, with some expressing shock over the severity of the allegations, while others highlight possible inconsistencies. “This doesn’t align with his character. There’s more to this than meets the eye,” said another local, hinting at underlying political rivalries.
While Kaitano declined to comment on the situation, sources close to the case claim that a faction is working to discredit him through a series of fabricated stories. “This is just the beginning. More false accusations will surface until they achieve their goal of bringing him down,” warned a source familiar with the ongoing developments.
