Knowstics School Management Embezzled US$41,272 in Exam Fees, British Council withholds Cambridge Results

Nyamazi Bonda – The British Council has withheld the Form Four Cambridge results for Knowstics Group of Schools after allegations surfaced that the school’s former management embezzled examination fees paid by parents, failing to remit the funds to the British Council.

In a circular to parents issued by Corporate Rescue Practitioner Budhama Chikamhi, the school revealed that the fees, paid by parents, were allegedly embezzled by the institution’s former management. The outstanding amount of US$41,272 has led to a standoff with the British Council, which has delayed releasing the results.

Chikamhi reported intense negotiations with British Council officials on 15 and 16 January but said discussions failed to yield a resolution. “We spent the entire day in deliberations, and by 11 p.m., we were still awaiting their final position,” he said.

The school is pursuing legal options, including an urgent chamber application to compel the British Council to release the results. Chikamhi assured parents that the school would cover legal fees for the application.

Meanwhile, a police report and civil proceedings are planned against the former management to recover the missing funds. However, Chikamhi emphasized that his priority is securing the release of the results.

Parents are expected to receive further updates by 11 a.m. today, as Chikamhi continues to engage the British Council to resolve the matter.

The controversy has sparked frustration among affected families, with many calling for accountability and a swift resolution to ensure their children’s academic progress.
