A 32-year-old man ‘Solomon Kabanda’ from Kuwadzana tragically took his own life after allegedly receiving a prophecy predicting his imminent demise.
Kabanda was discovered hanging from a washing line at his residence, where he lived with his grandmother.
Reports suggest that Solomon had previously attempted suicide in the same house, albeit unsuccessfully.
While residents provided varying accounts of the incident, sources indicated that Solomon had visited a spiritual leader, commonly referred to as a Madzibaba, who prophesied that his life was in jeopardy and that he had only a few days left to live.

According to one source, “Solomon Kabanda visited a Madzibaba at a shrine on Wednesday, where he was informed that his life was hanging in the balance. The prophecy left him feeling hopeless about the future, prompting his drastic decision.”
Another source revealed, “Solomon had been unwell for the past two weeks, and he was awaiting the results of medical tests. The pressure of his uncertain health status likely contributed to his decision to end his life.”
However, some residents expressed suspicion regarding the circumstances of Solomon’s death, suggesting the possibility of foul play. One resident remarked, “The manner in which he was found hanging from the washing line does not appear consistent with suicide. It raises suspicions of foul play, but we await further investigation and findings.”
Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Solomon Kabanda’s tragic death.
