Lonestar and Ruvimbo Makoni, the dynamic founders of Breaking Barriers Disability Service, have extended their philanthropic efforts to Zimbabwe, providing essential support to Chitemere Primary School in Mhondoro. The couple, who are internationally recognized for their charitable contributions, donated much-needed food supplies to the school, complementing the support received from the Presidential feeding scheme.
Local leaders, including Councillor Kudakwashe Mujome, Village Head Killian Kapfidze, Acting Headmaster Jabulani Guyana, and school committee member Success Makoni, expressed their gratitude for the timely donation, which was crucial for ensuring students had access to a balanced diet.
The Makonis, based in Australia, have garnered recognition for their tireless work through Breaking Barriers Disability Service. Recently, they were honored with the Outstanding Community Service Award at the Central Coast Local Business Awards and were celebrated at the Zim Achievers Diaspora Awards for their remarkable contributions to social causes.
Breaking Barriers Disability Service, founded in 2020, offers tailored care and support for individuals with disabilities in New South Wales. The organization’s unique approach focuses on matching participants with compatible support workers, ensuring personalized care. In addition to their direct services, Breaking Barriers fosters inclusivity through partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community organizations.
