Renowned dancer and choreographer Selemane “Majuice” Mpochi of Orchestra Mberikwadzo has been given one last chance to make amends as he rejoins the group after a four-week absence.
Earlier this month, Majuice got into serious water when he showed up late for a show in Chiredzi, claiming that he had overslept at the lodge where his bandmates were billeted. Macheso’s management suspended him as a result of this.
Majuice’s suspension was revoked after he begged for forgiveness and asked those close to Alick Macheso for help; however, he was demoted to regular band member status. Publicist for Orchestra Mberikwadzo Tich Makahamadze confirmed Majuice’s comeback, saying that although he is back on the scene, he has received one last warning.

His suspension is in effect for the second time. He needs to behave differently. This Saturday, he’ll be performing at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex. There will be repercussions if he keeps acting in the same way, Makahamadze underlined.
There are rumours circulating among the gang that Majuice lost his seniority when he returned. Kariba (Shame Chidewo), another dancer, has been chosen to take over as his principal deputy. According to a source inside the orchestra, Majuice has apologised to Baba Sharo, the band’s leader, and shown humility. He also expressed the hope that he has learned from the incident.
