Nkosinathi Emmanuel Phakathi, a convicted serial r*pist, has been sentenced to 42 life terms in prison by the Pretoria High Court sitting in Palm Ridge . Phakathi’s crimes span nearly a decade, from 2012 to 2021, in and around Ekurhuleni. He was found guilty of an astonishing 148 charges, including:
– R*pe: 90 counts, with some victims as young as nine years old
– Compelled R*pe: 4 counts
– Forcing Children to Witness S*xual Acts: 3 counts
– Kidnapping: 43 counts
– Assault: 2 counts
– Theft: 4 counts

Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana revealed that most of Phakathi’s victims were school going children, with the oldest being 44 years old . Initially facing 203 charges, Phakathi pleaded guilty to 148 counts, and his guilty plea statement was read in court.
