The apprehended suspects, identified as Jaccob Enjoyment Danda (36), Michael Moyo (also known as Joseph Ushe) (27), Tinashe Marufu (23), and Prince Ncube (37), were captured following a bold home invasion in the Zimre Park area of Masvingo’s low-density region. Armed with machetes, they targeted a residence, stealing laptops, cash, and cellphones from four occupants.
The subsequent police operation was triggered when two of the suspects, Michael Moyo and Jaccob Enjoyment Danda, were spotted at the Dhiyo business center. A vigilant private vehicle driver raised suspicions, leading to a prompt police response and their arrest at the Mhandamahwe tollgate. A search yielded three laptops, six iPhones, as well as tools of their trade, including two iron bars, pliers, a torch, and a screwdriver.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had been operating in Masvingo CBD since January 23, 2024.
Tinashe Marufu and Prince Ncube were apprehended in Zaka on February 26, 2024, completing the capture of the criminal quartet.
All four suspects are currently cooperating with the police in ongoing investigations and are expected to face charges related to the series of robberies.
