Meikles Limited has appointed Matthew John Moxon as the acting Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Malcolm Mycroft from the CEO role. Mycroft will remain the Managing Director of TM Supermarkets.
According to a statement from company secretary Thabani Mpofu, the executive changes take effect from October 2, 2024, when Mycroft officially stepped down. Moxon was named Acting CEO on October 4, 2024, as the company seeks a permanent replacement.
Moxon brings a solid academic background and extensive experience in retail and property management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town, alongside a recently completed MBA from the same institution.
His career began at Shoprite Checkers, where he successfully completed a Management Training Programme, progressing through various roles in project management and operations within their Buying and Mozambique Divisions.
Since joining Meikles Limited in 2017, Moxon has leveraged his strategic leadership and business development skills to facilitate company growth. He currently also serves as Managing Director of Thomas Meikle Properties and is a Director at Tanganda Limited, contributing to its strategic initiatives. Moxon’s dynamic leadership and expertise in law and business are key to fostering innovation and growth within the company.
