Ministry of Industry Targets Scammers Posing as Officials in Loan Fraud

Exposed: Scandal of Child Health Cards

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has issued a public warning about fraudsters impersonating Ministry officials, offering fake loans, grants, and offer letters.

In a recent announcement, the Ministry revealed that scammers are contacting individuals and organizations via email and Facebook, pretending to represent the Ministry.

These scammers lure their victims into fraudulent application processes, resulting in financial losses. The statement reads:

“The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is deeply concerned about the ongoing scams where individuals and entities are being misled by fraudsters posing as Ministry officials, offering bogus grants and loan opportunities through email and Facebook.”

Victims are persuaded to apply for these loans, only to lose their money during the process.

False advertisements, loans, grants, and offer letters claiming to come from the Ministry are circulating, and the public is urged to disregard such offers.

The Ministry stresses that it does not provide loans or grants, and anyone approached with such propositions via email, social media, or other platforms should be cautious.

The authorities have been alerted, and actions are being taken to stop the scammers.

The Ministry advises the public to report any suspicious communications and verify any information claiming to be from the Ministry through its Communications and Advocacy Unit at info@moic.org.zw or landline (263) 242 791823/702733/700472.

The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s cooperation in tackling the scams.
