Miss South Africa Mia Le Roux Withdraws from Miss Universe Competition for Health Reasons

The Miss Universe Organization has confirmed that Mia Le Roux, the current Miss South Africa 2024, has withdrawn from the 2024 Miss Universe competition due to health concerns. The announcement was made with a heavy heart through an official post on Instagram.

Le Roux, in her statement, expressed how difficult it was to step away from the competition, acknowledging the immense support and expectations placed on her. “It is with great difficulty that I make this decision, especially knowing the dreams that were behind my journey to Miss Universe,” she said. “However, my health must take precedence, and I am grateful for the support I’ve received from my fellow South Africans throughout this time.”

The Miss Universe Organization has shown full support for her decision, prioritizing her well-being and wishing her a speedy recovery. They stated, “Her health is our primary concern, and we support her every step of the way as she focuses on her recovery and regains her strength.”

In the wake of the announcement, Le Roux’s supporters flooded social media with messages of encouragement. Celebrities and fans alike shared their well-wishes, with Bonang Matheba writing, “Get well soon @mialerouxx,” while others expressed their sadness and support, noting how exciting Le Roux’s journey to the crown had been.

Despite her withdrawal, Le Roux continues to inspire many, not only with her beauty but also with her resilience in handling personal challenges. As the 73rd Miss Universe pageant unfolds in Mexico, a new Miss Universe will be crowned on November 16.
