Harare, Zimbabwe | A 20-year-old man known as “Most Wanted” on Harare’s Copacabana bus terminus has been charged with murder following a fatal assault in the city center.
Takudzwa Mombeshora allegedly attacked and killed a 57-year-old man, Forbes Jile, on January 15th. The incident occurred after Jile left the Big Apple Sports Bar and was walking along Nelson Mandela Street.
Mombeshora and his accomplices, who remain at large, reportedly accosted Jile. A struggle ensued, during which Jile was assaulted and robbed of his belongings, including US$10 and a cellphone.
Jile sustained severe head injuries and was later found deceased.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as head trauma and a subdural hematoma.

Mombeshora was subsequently arrested at the Copacabana bus terminus. During the arrest, he resisted and bit off one of the arresting detective’s fingers.
Mombeshora appeared before Harare magistrate Apollonia Marutya, where he was not required to plead. He was remanded in custody due to the seriousness of the offense.
