Mvuma, Zimbabwe | Controversial self-proclaimed prophet Passion Java has come under scrutiny after his prophecy regarding the 106-year-old founder of the African Apostolic Church, Paul Mwazha, did not come to pass.
Java had predicted that Mwazha, popularly known as “Mutumwa,” would not live to see 2025. However, Mwazha entered the new year alive, defying the prophet’s declaration.
Back in November 2024, Java publicly claimed to have received a vision about Mwazha’s impending departure before the year’s end. Speaking to his followers, Java urged the church to pray for peace and unity, warning of potential discord within the African Apostolic Church’s leadership. He reportedly stated:
“As the year draws to a close, I saw the departure of Paul Mwazha, going to be with the Lord. To the church in Zimbabwe, I urge you to pray fervently for peace and unity within the walls of his congregation.

For I have seen a vision of discord and division among the top leadership, threatening to fracture the church. Succession disputes shall arise. Pray for wisdom and guidance, love, forgiveness, and unity to prevail, that the church may continue to stand.”
Despite Java’s ominous vision, Mwazha, though physically frail, remains alive as 2025 begins. His most recent public appearance was during his 106th birthday celebration, where he was celebrated by his congregation and followers.
Java’s failed prophecy has sparked debates among critics and followers alike, with many questioning the credibility of self-styled prophets and their predictions.
Meanwhile, Mwazha’s survival stands as a testament to his resilience, as the centenarian continues to inspire his congregation despite his advanced age.
